Volunteer Requirements

This page serves as your central checklist for all safety and compliance certifications. All volunteers must complete these certifications before participating in any league activities.

Step 1: Website Registration

🔴 Volunteer Registration Annual

All individuals must create a volunteer profile for the current season. This ensures you are linked to our roster and insurance.

Log in to your account at www.ltjbsa.com.
Navigate to the Volunteer tab in your dashboard.
Select the role you are interested in (Coach, Assistant, Team Parent).

Wait! Do not upload certificates inside the SportsConnect registration form. We use Step 5 for verification.

Step 2: JDP Background Check

🔍 JDP Screening Email Annual

Following registration in www.ltjbsa.com, you will receive an email from JDP, Little League's Background Check Provider. The email will come from [email protected].

You must click the link in that email and complete the JDP background screening process, which takes about five minutes.

Step 3: Little League Training Courses

🎓 Mandatory Online Safety Courses

Access these courses via the Little League University Training Portal. Select "Lawrence Little League" during account setup.

Step 4: Live Fingerprinting

🖐️ IdentoGo Live Scan Every 3 Years

NJ state law requires all youth sports volunteers to undergo live-scan fingerprinting every three years.

Once scheduled, IdentoGo will send you a Service Confirmation Receipt email. Print this to PDF ensuring it shows your full name, date, UE ID, and TCN numbers. You will upload this PDF into our portal.
